What you can expect

  • Available most days as a shared tour and any other day for a private tour.

Discover Rhodes through its flavours on Tasting Rhodes, a unique gastronomic tour with a local host that takes you deep into the island’s culinary traditions and village life. This immersive experience combines food, wine, and warm Rhodian hospitality in an unforgettable setting.

The tour begins in the traditional mountain village of Apollona, nestled in the foothills of Mount Profitis Ilias. Your first stop is a visit to a women’s agricultural cooperative, where you’ll meet the local women behind the production of traditional Rhodian delicacies and learn how they preserve time-honored recipes.

After a relaxed walk through the village, you’ll visit a local winery to discover indigenous grape varieties and enjoy a tasting of Rhodes’ award-winning wines.

The highlight of the tour is a hands-on cooking lesson with a local cook. Learn how to prepare classic Greek and Rhodian dishes such as tzatziki, aubergine salad, dolmadakia, and traditional cheese pies,—using local ingredients and authentic techniques.

Your experience concludes with a delicious homemade lunch, where you’ll enjoy the dishes you’ve prepared together in a friendly, communal setting. Before leaving Apollona, you’ll also enjoy a traditional Greek coffee.
