Our Sunset Experience is designed around one simple idea: we do not force nature to fit the itinerary we follow the conditions to find the most beautiful setting for the evening.

Depending on the weather, your guide will choose from three carefully selected locations, each offering its own atmosphere, scenery and photographic opportunities.

When the skies are clear and calm, we head towards the beachfront, where the Atlantic Ocean reflects shades of gold, pink and soft orange. With the sound of the waves, the cool sea breeze and the sun slowly disappearing beyond the horizon, this is Swakopmund at its most peaceful.

If a light coastal mist begins to roll in, we move to a dune viewpoint overlooking the harbour lights. From above, the coastline stretches beneath you while the glow of Swakopmund begins to appear in the distance. It is a beautiful setting for photography, conversation and simply enjoying the changing evening light.

When stronger coastal winds or fog move in, we travel inland towards the Moon Valley viewpoint, where the vast Namib Desert creates an entirely different sunset experience. Here the fading light washes across ancient valleys and sculpted desert formations in warm shades of amber, copper and rose.

Whichever direction the evening takes us, the experience remains relaxed and unhurried.

As the light begins to change, settle in with complimentary snacks and refreshing drinks while Namibia puts on the evening’s final show.

There is time to take photographs, enjoy the view, share stories and simply appreciate the extraordinary contrast between desert and ocean that makes Swakopmund so unique.
