What you can expect

Get picked up at your hotel and settle in for the van ride to Soberania National Park, an important natural reserve only 45 minutes away from the city. The Park is vital for the Canal of Panama functioning due to the rainforest and Gatun Lake water tributaries.

Pass by the former Canal Zone, the Pedro Miguel Locks, Centenario Bridge, and the French Cemetery (in honour of the canal workers) along the way.

Hike through a dense tropical canopy accompanied by a guide. Look out for birds, monkeys, butterflies, frogs and many others species while listening to informative commentary about the region’s incredible biodiversity.

Take one of the recommended trails (Plantation or Pipeline Road), depending the day and the season. Traverse both flat and hilly sections as you wind through an old forest. Immerse yourself in a bird-watching paradise as you enjoy the colourful variety of local birdlife.

Get dropped off back at your hotel in Panama City at the end of the hike.
