You get around three hours on the rim at Eagle Point, where the Skywalk juts out over the canyon. On the way we stop on top of Hoover Dam and drive through the Joshua tree forest on Pierce Ferry Road.

Arizona's Joshua Tree Forest (Pass by)

The Joshua Tree Forest at Grand Canyon West is a stunning stretch of desert landscape filled with the unique, twisted Joshua Trees found only in the Mojave Desert. These rare trees, with their spiky leaves and striking shapes, create an otherworldly view that has inspired legends and stories for centuries. Driving through this natural wonder offers a glimpse into an ancient ecosystem, where each tree can live for hundreds of years. It’s a beautiful and peaceful stop on the way to the Grand Canyon.

Hoover Dam

  • 1h
  • Admission ticket included
The Hoover Dam is an engineering marvel straddling the border of Nevada and Arizona, standing 726 feet tall and stretching 1,244 feet across the Colorado River. Built during the Great Depression, this iconic structure tamed the river to provide hydroelectric power, water storage, and flood control. Visitors can admire breathtaking views from the top, overlooking Lake Mead on one side and the mighty river below. Its sheer size, history, and impact make Hoover Dam a must-see landmark in the American Southwest.
