Discover the hidden nature of the mangroves of the Mayan world around Sisal, exploring by kayak through the Ciénega lagoon among mangrove trees to reach a jungle spring, a freshwater oasis ecosystem where you can swim and cool off.
The tour begins at the meeting point, our base of operations in Sisal, where we will give an introduction to the tour to increase safety during this outdoor ecotourism experience.
After listening to the instructions and introductory explanation and selecting the life jackets that fit you best, we will begin the tour.
We will board a safari-style vehicle, which we call a “moto-taxi,” to take us to a special spot in the nature reserve where we will launch the kayaks.
We will board the kayaks at the edge of the mangrove lagoon and begin paddling through an ecosystem called a wetland, where we will see different birds and mangrove trees. If we are lucky, we may even see flamingos.
We will follow a route through the mangroves that only the tour guides know, arriving at a jungle spring with crystal clear water.
When we arrive at the spring, we will get out of the kayaks with our life jackets, diving masks, and snorkels, and begin to swim to explore this incredible ecosystem.
After enjoying some time at the spring, we will continue on the route back to the base where we started the tour.
