The traditional Samba dance is said to be derived from African origin and celebrates the culture's rhythmic drums and energetic dancing. See how it has since grown to become the quintessential music and dance form associated with Brazil's renowned Carnival and get up-close views of a dancer's elaborate costume.

Your instructors illustrate the basic dance movements and how to follow the lively music beat. Then it's your turn. Don't be shy—much of Samba dancing is improvised once mastered, so dance the night away.
