Begin your evening with a hotel pickup and a short drive away from the city lights into the pristine wilderness, where the chances of spotting the aurora borealis are at their best. Along the way, listen to your knowledgeable local guide share fascinating stories about the northern skies, Sámi legends, and the science behind the magical phenomenon of the aurora.

To keep little ones happy and comfortable, the tour provides warm winter clothing and cosy breaks around a crackling campfire. Families can toast marshmallows, sip hot berry juice or hot chocolate, and enjoy light Finnish snacks while waiting for the northern lights to appear. Children often love listening to Lapland tales or simply playing in the snow under the stars.

What makes this experience special for families is the relaxed pace: no long hikes or overly strenuous activities, but rather a calm and engaging evening that balances adventure with comfort. Even if the aurora doesn’t show on a particular night, the experience of being together in the Arctic wilderness—surrounded by snowy forests and star-filled skies—is magical in itself.

At the end of the tour, you’ll be safely transported back to your accommodation in Rovaniemi with lasting memories, photos, and perhaps the glow of the northern lights still in your eyes.
