Activity itinerary

Basilica of San Clemente
  • 1h
The Basilica of San Clemente in Rome offers a fascinating journey through history. The 12th-century upper basilica is adorned with a stunning apse mosaic and Cosmatesque marble inlays. Beneath it lies a 4th-century Christian church, built on a Roman nobleman's house, with medieval frescoes depicting scenes from the life of St. Clement. Further below, a 1st-century Mithraeum, an underground temple dedicated to the god Mithras, reveals ancient Roman religious practices, along with the remains of Roman warehouses and residential buildings. The basilica showcases Rome’s evolution from paganism to Christianity in a single, extraordinary site.
St. Peter's Basilica
The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican City or simply Saint Peter's Basilica, is a church of the Italian High Renaissance located in Vatican City, an independent microstate enclaved within the city of Rome, Italy.
Castel Sant'Angelo
The Mausoleum of Hadrian, more often known as Castel Sant'Angelo is a towering rotunda in Parco Adriano, Rome, Italy. It was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. The popes later used the building as a fortress and castle, and it is now a museum. The structure was once the tallest building in Rome.
Fiume Tevere
The Tiber (Tevere) is the third-longest river in Italy and the longest in Central Italy, rising in the Apennine Mountains in Emilia-Romagna and flowing 406 km (252 mi) through Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio, where it is joined by the River Aniene, to the Tyrrhenian Sea, between Ostia and Fiumicino.
St. Angelo Bridge
Ponte Sant'Angelo is a Roman bridge in Rome, Italy, completed in 134 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian, to span the Tiber from the city centre to his newly constructed mausoleum, now the towering Castel Sant'Angelo.
Ponte Sisto
Ponte Sisto is a bridge in Rome's historic centre, spanning the river Tiber. It connects Via dei Pettinari in the Rione of Regola to Piazza Trilussa in Trastevere.
Isola Tiberina
Tiber Island is the only river island in the part of the Tiber which runs through Rome. Tiber Island is located in the southern bend of the Tiber.
Trastevere
Located on the west bank of the Tiber River, the Trastevere District is one of the most charming and authentic areas in Rome.
