If you select the transfer option, your safari driver will collect you from your hotel, Doha airport, cruise terminal, or another location within Doha. Relax inside a comfortable, air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle as you travel south towards the desert. Guests who do not select transfers can meet the team at the designated desert meeting point.
Upon reaching the desert area, the driver will prepare the vehicle for the dunes by reducing the tire pressure. You will then have time to enjoy any optional activities selected with your booking.
Choose a short camel ride and experience a traditional way of travelling across the desert. Take photographs with the camel and admire the surrounding landscape from a different perspective. For more excitement, select an optional self-drive quad-bike session and ride along a designated desert track under the supervision of the local activity team. The camel ride and quad bike are optional and are not included unless the relevant option is selected.
The main adventure begins when you enter the dunes with an experienced safari driver. Hold on as the powerful 4x4 climbs steep dunes, follows sandy ridges, and makes thrilling descents across the soft desert terrain. Next, try sandboarding, which is included in the tour. Climb a dune, step or sit on the board, and slide down the sandy slope at your preferred pace. This activity is suitable for beginners, and no previous experience is necessary. Families, couples, solo travellers, and groups can all take part.
After completing the desert activities, the vehicle’s tyres will be reinflated for the journey back. Guests who booked the transfer option will be returned to their hotel, airport, cruise terminal, or agreed drop-off point in Doha.
