On the way, listen to some interesting stories about Catalonia and its bounding to the holy mountain, scene of pilgrims since ancient times and part of the route to Santiago de Compostela. The Rocky Massif of Montserrat has been declared as Natural Park in 1987, and characterised by the rounded shape of its peaks. This incredible 4000-foot wonder is easily recognisable by its ''serrated'' top from which it got his name. We invite you to take an easy walk of around 30 min to enjoy one of the most astonishing views of the natural park, but if you wish you can also decide to enjoy other activities that the mountain offers.

Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, house of the serene image of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, a polychrome Romanesque carving dating from the 12th century. The legend says that in the year 880 some shepherd boys found a statue of the black madonna, the "Moreneta", in a grotto. A chapel was built on this site that soon became a place of pilgrimage.

If you feel like walking for around 30 min, you can have access to the Holy Cave, where, standing to the legend, the virgin is said to have appeared. The site has, since then, become an authentic centre for pilgrimage and prayer. From there, you will also be able to see the Cross of San Miguel and the wonderful views from this side of the mountain.
