On the footsteps of deer: Parnitha’s Roundabout
We will climb Parnitha for a circular route following in the footsteps of deer! Starting at Mpafi hut we will take the path to the well of Skipiza where there will be a short stop for water and relax below the plane trees. Then we will go up to the hut of Skipiza where we will sit to enjoy its unique view. Our next stop, after a walk of 1.5 hours on a smooth path towards Mola where we will sit for an hour to eat and rest. Then we will follow the path that goes parallel to the road to reach Mpafi refuge for food.
The basic elements of the route are:
• Level of difficulty: 1/5 (Easy route that needs a good physical condition)
• Altitude difference: 200 metres (grade 1)
• Duration: 6 hours
• Leads: Chris
Participants should have the following:
• Hiking boots (preferred) or at least good trainers
• Water (suggested 1lt+) and snacks
• Waterproof coat (if needed)
• Poles (optional)
It should be noted that the organiser have the right to change course based on the needs and situations that may come up
