Located in the easternmost part of the island, Nordeste is considered to be the most beautiful region in São Miguel and it has already been considered to be the most flower-rich region of all Europe.

After the pick up in Ponta Delgada at 9 am, our first stop is well worth travelling across the island as we stop at the viewpoint of Salto do Cavalo’s peak.
This viewpoint is marked by astonishing and wide views over Povoação, the first place to be settled in the island, as well as the coast that extends beyond Povoação. Finally, we will go down to the town of Nordeste for lunch

During this tour, we will also pass by the beautiful Serra da Tronqueira, where we will enter a big lush forest, home to the Priolo bird (Pyrrhula murina). On a beautiful day, it is possible to see Pico da Vara, the highest point of São Miguel island, rising up 1,103m above the sea level.

On the way back to Ponta Delgada, we will stop at wonderful viewpoints along the East and South coast and also at Povoação.
