Experience the natural beauty of Mount Merbabu at 3,145 metres above sea level on a one-day shared trekking tour from Yogyakarta. Famous for its wide savanna landscapes, rolling hills, and rare Edelweiss flowers, Merbabu offers a rewarding trekking experience for adventure seekers and nature lovers.

Your journey begins early with hotel pickup in Yogyakarta. You will drive approximately 3 hours to the Merbabu basecamp, where you will meet your local guide, prepare your equipment, and receive a safety briefing.

The trek begins with a gradual ascent through lush forests, gradually opening into Merbabu’s famous savannas. Along the trail, you can spot the iconic Edelweiss flowers, adding a magical touch to the landscape. Enjoy panoramic views of nearby volcanoes including Mount Merapi, Mount Sindoro, and Mount Sumbing as you hike towards the viewpoint.

At the summit or designated viewpoint, you can rest, take photos, and enjoy the fresh mountain air. After soaking in the scenery, begin your descent back to the basecamp, continuing to enjoy savanna landscapes and rare flora along the way. After returning, your driver will take you back to Yogyakarta, concluding a full-day adventure filled with breathtaking natural beauty.

This tour is ideal for travellers who want a full-day mountain adventure without the overnight camping, while still experiencing the highlights of Merbabu: savannas, Edelweiss flowers, and panoramic mountain views.
