What you can expect
Immerse yourself in the heart of Costa Rican culture with this intimate and authentic coffee and sugarcane tour, a family project with over 20 years of history. Located in the mountains of Monteverde, we invite you to experience the journey “from seed to cup” directly with the hands that cultivate it.
We will begin with a peaceful guided walk through our small family farm. Here, our guide will share knowledge passed down through generations about coffee cultivation.
You will see the coffee bushes up close and learn about the varieties that grow in the region, such as the famous Arabica. You will discover the different stages of coffee processing, including pulping, fermentation, sun drying, and roasting, all essential for developing our coffee's unique flavour.
Along the way, you will also discover the traditional process of sugarcane and taste freshly pressed sugarcane juice, a refreshing and natural drink that will delight your palate.
As part of the experience, you will take part in a small hands-on cooking class, where you will learn how to prepare a traditional Costa Rican tortilla. It is a fun and authentic way to connect with one of the everyday flavours of Costa Rican culture.
We will conclude the tour with a coffee tasting accompanied by homemade snacks, including the tortilla you prepared during the experience. We are also happy to offer vegetarian and vegan-friendly options so everyone can enjoy the flavours of Costa Rica.
