The Wooden Train Route and the Golden Valley
Discover Soller and Puerto Soller on a half-day excursion of approximately 4.5 hours, designed to enjoy two of Mallorca's most iconic historic journeys: the Soller Train and its century-old tram.
This experience combines the landscapes of the Serra de Tramuntana, the charm of the Soller Valley, and the bay of Puerto Soller. This is an ideal excursion to get a general first impression of both places while enjoying their historic modes of transport.
Mondays: afternoon excursion
On Mondays, the excursion starts in Palma with departure on the historic Tren de Sóller train at 3:10 p.m. During the journey, you'll pass through tunnels, over viaducts, and across mountain landscapes dotted with olive groves and citrus orchards until you reach Sóller.
After a short period of free time in Sóller, you'll take the Sóller Tram at 5:00 p.m. towards Port de Sóller. There, you'll have a limited amount of free time to stroll along the bay, admire the harbour, and soak up its Mediterranean atmosphere. The return to Palma is by coach.
Friday departures: morning excursion
On Fridays, the tour is done in reverse. You'll depart by bus from Palma for the Port of Sóller, where you'll have a short amount of free time to explore the seafront promenade and enjoy the views of the bay.
At 11:10 a.m., you'll board the Sóller Tram to travel through the valley among orange groves, gardens, and traditional houses until you reach the town of Sóller. After a limited amount of free time in Sóller, you'll head back to Palma on the famous Tren de Sóller at 12:15 p.m.
Important: This is a half-day excursion, and free time in both Sóller and Puerto de Sóller is limited. The experience is primarily designed to enjoy the train and tram rides, as well as to get an overview of these two landmarks of Mallorca.
