What you can expect

Enjoy a guided visit through the vineyards, where you will learn about Madeira’s TABLE WINE culture from experienced professionals and winemakers. The visit is focused on authentic LOCAL TABLE WINE from Madeira’s north coast, offering insight into regional production and traditional winemaking methods. At a carefully selected winery, located in a more REMOTE AREA of the island, you will meet the producer, discover the winemaking process, and sample a selection of their wines, accompanied by traditional tapas.

The tour includes a tasting of Madeira LOCAL TABLE WINE

After the vineyard visit, we continue to one of Madeira’s most spectacular viewpoints, overlooking CABO GRIAO, Europe’s highest sea cliff and the world's second-highest sea cliff of its kind, rising 580 metres (1,775 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean. From here, admire breathtaking views over Câmara de Lobos and Funchal. Along the coastline, centuries of sea erosion have created caves and terraces, while local farmers have shaped small cultivated plots, forming a unique and colourful landscape.

Our final stop is the charming fishing village of CAMARA DE LOBOS, located just west of Funchal. Its picturesque harbour, pebble beach, and traditional houses clustered around the bay make it one of Madeira’s most iconic locations. The village was named by João Gonçalves Zarco after the large population of monk seals (“lobos-marinhos”) that once inhabited the area.

In 1949, Winston Churchill famously chose Câmara de Lobos as the subject of several paintings, captivated by its stunning scenery.

While visiting the village, you may also wish to try Poncha, Madeira’s traditional drink, made with sugarcane rum, honey, and fresh lemon juice, served in the local taverns.
