THIS IS A SHARED TRIP TO WHALE SHARK, NOT A PRIVATE CAR, SHARING CAR.
You will travel together with local passengers and other travellers. The vehicle may make frequent stops to pick up and drop off other passengers along the route. These stops are part of the local transport system and cannot be skipped or avoided.
The journey may take 8–10 hours or longer due to passenger stops, traffic, ferry queues, ferry schedules, road conditions, and local transport operations.
If you require a private vehicle or a direct journey without stops for other passengers, this shared transport option is NOT suitable for you.
PICKUP
Bangsal Harbour: around 8:30 AM
Senggigi: around 9:30 AM
Mataram: around 10:00 AM
Pickup times are approximate and may vary due to traffic, pickup location, road conditions, and local transport operations. Please be ready 10–15 minutes before the estimated pickup time.
JOURNEY TO SUMBAWA
Travel to Kayangan Harbour, usually around 2 hours. From Kayangan, take a public ferry to Poto Tano, Sumbawa, usually around 1.5–2 hours, excluding possible waiting and boarding time.
From Poto Tano, continue by road to Labuan Jambu, the gateway to Saleh Bay.
The total journey usually takes around 8–10 hours or longer, Delays may occur due to traffic, passenger stops, ferry queues or schedules, weather, and road conditions.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is provided at a local hotel or guest house in Labuan Jambu. As the area is relatively remote, facilities may be more basic than those found in larger cities or standard tourist destinations.
Rooms are equipped with air conditioning (AC), Room allocation is subject to availability.
WHALE SHARK ADVENTURE
At around 4:00 AM travel to the harbour to board a traditional wooden Begog boat towards the bagang fishing platforms.
The boat journey usually takes around 1 hour or longer, depending on sea conditions and the location of the whale sharks.
Snorkelling usually begins around 7:00 AM, although the timing may vary depending on weather, sea conditions, and whale shark activity.
A simple breakfast of coffee, tea, bread, and fruit is provided on the boat.
IMPORTANT WHALE SHARK INFORMATION
Whale sharks are wild animals that live freely in the ocean We do not feed or control them, so their presence cannot be guaranteed.
Based on our experience, the estimated chance of encountering whale sharks is around 80–90% but this is not a guarantee. Whale sharks may appear close to the boat, remain visible only briefly, stay at a distance, move to another location, or not be seen at all.
No refund or compensation will be provided if whale sharks are not sighted, as their presence, location, and behaviour are natural conditions beyond the operator's control.
