The tour, departing from our beach in Letojanni, “JANKURA BEACH CLUB,” will skirt the beautiful, expansive beaches of Letojanni and Taormina until reaching “SPISONE” and the first bay called “BAIA DELLE SIRENE” (Bay of the Sirens) or “BAIA DI SAN NICOLA ” (Bay of San Nicola), characterised by waters full of Posidonia seagrass. Here, we will point out an ancient bay used by fishermen, known in local parlance as “U PUTTICHIU”. Right next to it, we will show you a natural rock formation that, over time, has taken on the charming shape of an elephant due to erosion by the sea waves, hence its name: “SCOGLIO DELL'ELEFANTE” (Elephant Rock).
The tour will then continue to “MAZZARÒ BAY,” a highly sought-after destination for luxury tourism, as the gulf is home to many prominent 5-star hotels, including the renovated Hotel Villa Sant'Andrea in Taormina, one of the most historic.
Immediately afterwards, the cruise will continue southwards towards the “BLUE GROTTO and ISOLA BELLA,” located within the beautiful Taormina Nature Reserve with its crystal-clear waters and natural pools teeming with a wide variety of marine life. Here, you will have the opportunity to swim and go snorkelling. Along the way, you will visit the “CORAL CAVE,” where you can admire the sight of red coral.
Immediately after stopping in the nature reserve and visiting the inside of the Blue Grotto, the cruise will continue towards “CAPO TAORMINA”, with the “FARAGLIONI” and the “SCOGLIO DEL FICO D'INDIA” (Prickly Pear Rock) providing the backdrop.
Once you have passed the headland, specifically the “ROCK WITH THE CROSS,” a very important symbol for the old local fishermen, you will find yourself faced with the striking view of “MOUNT ETNA,” which dominates the large and beautiful “BAY OF GIARDINI NAXOS,” the first Greek colony in Sicily. Crossing the bay of “VILLAGONIA”, we will visit the “GROTTA DEL SOLE” (Cave of the Sun), also known as the “GROTTA DELL'AMORE” (Cave of Love). Here, the crew will be sure to share anecdotes and fun facts related to its name.
After sailing along part of the bay and catching a glimpse of the historic “GIARDINI-TAORMINA TRAIN STATION,” the boat will stop for a break, where you can swim and go snorkelling.
Here, our staff will set up a small aperitif buffet for our guests on board, with typical Sicilian products, fresh fruit, prosecco, and various other drinks.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point, where the beach staff and crew will assist you with disembarkation.
The total duration of the experience will be approximately 3 hours.
