What you can expect

Explore the Rainforest When It Truly Comes Alive

Most visitors experience Costa Rica's rainforest during the day—but after sunset, an entirely different world awakens. As darkness falls, the forest fills with sounds, movement, and fascinating creatures that remain hidden during daylight hours.

Join our 2-hour guided night walk, available daily at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and discover one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Costa Rica. Led by an ICT-certified naturalist guide, you'll explore easy, well-maintained trails through a real tropical rainforest just outside La Fortuna.

To ensure a more personal experience, groups are limited to a maximum of 8 participants per guide. Smaller groups allow more opportunities to observe wildlife, ask questions, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the forest without large crowds.

Depending on the natural conditions each evening, you may encounter colourful Red-Eyed Tree Frogs, Glass Frogs, Poison Dart Frogs, sleeping birds, geckos, basilisk lizards, snakes, praying mantises, katydids, stick insects, whip spiders, scorpions, spiders, glowing fungi, and many other fascinating nocturnal creatures. With a little luck, you may also observe mammals such as two-toed sloths, kinkajous, armadillos, porcupines, bats, or anteaters.

Because this is a real rainforest, every walk is different. Wildlife activity changes naturally with weather, humidity, temperature, and countless other environmental factors, making each tour a unique experience.

To minimise our impact on wildlife, guests use low-intensity torches, while your guide carries a more powerful professional light to safely locate animals without unnecessarily disturbing them. This conservation-focused approach allows visitors to experience the rainforest while respecting the animals that call it home.

Whether you're passionate about wildlife, photography, or simply looking for an unforgettable evening in nature, this tour offers a genuine opportunity to experience Costa Rica's rainforest exactly as it is—wild, unpredictable, and full of surprises.
