What you can expect

Korčula is a fortified town, and you will learn about how and why it was built. Through its history, it was under Venetian rule, and I will speak about their influence on the life in the town and island. I will show you some buildings, chappels, churches and houses that still stand toll, even though they were built centuries ago. You will learn how potable water was a major issue and how it was solved. We will visit a church whose floor say a storey about a wealthy family who owned a gorgeous mansion. I will take you to the courtyard of that mansion too. I will share some childhood memories of mine. You will see the cathedral and Bishop's mansion, learn about the ancient sewage system and how bubonic plague almost killed the whole town. The tour will give you an overview of the island's history. I will try to connect some dots between Korčula and Marco Polo
