Step into Koper at walking pace and let the city reveal itself one corner at a time. This relaxed two-hour stroll weaves through the historic heart of Slovenia’s coastal gateway where layers of Venetian elegance and everyday local life meet naturally.

Your walk begins at Tito Square the proud main square framed by the Praetorian Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption. From here you slip into Cobbler Street once the busiest craft street in medieval Koper where shoemakers worked door to door and gossip travelled faster than leather scraps. Prešeren Square opens up as a calmer pause in the city rhythm while nearby Muda Gates mark the last standing entrance of the old fortified town a silent witness to centuries of trade and defence.

At Carpaccio Square you discover a surprising art storey about the famous Renaissance painter Vittore Carpaccio who left a lasting cultural footprint. Along the way you taste Koper through its flavours from a warm local burek to refreshing ice cream enjoyed like locals do between errands and conversations.

Koper is worth visiting because it feels lived in not staged. Compact walkable and full of small stories it offers a genuine sense of Istrian life where history is not behind glass but under your feet and on your plate.
