What you can expect
Escape into the wilderness of Jim Corbett National Park, India's oldest and most celebrated tiger reserve, on an unforgettable Private Gypsy Safari led by a knowledgeable naturalist guide. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, this extraordinary wildlife sanctuary offers one of the finest safari experiences in Asia, combining breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and the thrill of searching for the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat.
Discover India's First National ParkEstablished in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Jim Corbett later became India's first national park and played a pioneering role in the country's wildlife conservation movement. Today it forms the heart of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, covering more than 1,300 square kilometres of protected forest, mountains, wetlands, and rivers.
The park is named after the legendary conservationist and hunter-turned-naturalist Jim Corbett, whose efforts helped protect the region's wildlife and inspired future generations of conservationists.
Your Private Safari ExperienceYour adventure begins at the designated safari gate, where you'll meet your experienced driver and certified naturalist guide. After verifying your entry permit, you'll board your private open Gypsy, reserved exclusively for your group.
The open-sided vehicle is specially designed for wildlife viewing, offering unobstructed panoramic views and excellent opportunities for photography. As the Gypsy slowly enters the forest, the sounds of civilisation fade away, replaced by birdsong, rustling leaves, and the distant calls of wildlife.
Royal Bengal Tiger
The tiger is undoubtedly the star attraction. Corbett has one of India's highest tiger populations, and while sightings can never be guaranteed, every safari brings the exciting possibility of encountering this magnificent predator.
Asian Elephant:
Large elephant herds frequently roam the park, especially near rivers and grasslands. Seeing these gentle giants in the wild is one of Corbett's greatest highlights.
LeopardElusive and incredibly agile, leopards inhabit the rocky hills and dense forests. Although more difficult to spot than tigers, lucky visitors occasionally witness these beautiful cats resting on tree branches or crossing jungle tracks.
Deer Species
The park supports several herbivores, including:
Spotted Deer (Chital)
Sambar Deer
Barking Deer
Hog Deer
A Paradise for BirdwatchersJim Corbett is internationally recognised as one of India's premier birding destinations. With over 580 recorded species, it's a dream location for beginners and experienced birdwatchers alike.
You may encounter:
Crested Serpent Eagle
Changeable Hawk-Eagle
Great Hornbill
Pallas's Fish EagleThe Role of Your Naturalist Guide
A professional guide transforms an ordinary safari into an unforgettable wildlife experience. Rather than simply driving through the forest, your guide interprets the language of nature.
