Begin your day by visiting a reindeer fence, where you’ll meet and feed the reindeer who stay in the enclosure to survive the winter. Learn about reindeer herding and local culture from local reindeer herder and try your hand at throwing a traditional lasso (suopunki) used by reindeer herders.

Afterwards, head to a traditional hut in the fence to grill sausages and enjoy homemade hot berry juice. This activity is especially well-suited for families with children. Please note that the reindeer are wild animals, and the activity is based on real, everyday reindeer herding. The reindeer are gentle around people, but they may be shy.
