What you can expect

Day 1: Cusco - Santa Maria
At 6:00 a.m., we will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and depart by bus to Ollantaytambo. Once there, we will ascend the Malaga pass to go from there to a hostel in Santa Maria where you can have lunch, dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Santa Maria - Santa Teresa
After a good breakfast at the hostel in Santa Maria, we will continue on foot crossing the Vilcanota River by a pedestrian bridge.

We will have lunch in a local family home and, after regaining our strength, we will go to the open-air thermal baths of Cocalmayo. After a relaxing bath, we will go to the village of Santa Teresa to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes
We will have breakfast at the lodge in Santa Teresa and will take a 2-hour walk to the banks of the Urubamba River. After crossing this riverbed by a pedestrian footbridge, we will go to the village of Hidroeléctrica for lunch.

From Hidroeléctrica we can take a 45-minute train ride to Aguas Calientes (optional). We can also go to this last town walking, about 2 or 3 hours.

Finally, once we arrive in Aguas Calientes we will go to a local hotel to have dinner and rest until the next day.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Depending on our arrival time in Machu Picchu, we will begin a hike of approximately two and a half hours that will take us to Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. Optionally, you can also go up by bus for a 25 minute ride.

Once in Machu Picchu, we will take a two and a half hour guided tour of this magnificent archaeological site. After the visit, you will have free time.
time you will spend in Machu Picchu will depend on how you want to
back to Cusco and it will also depend on whether you want to climb the
Machu Picchu mountain or the Huayna Picchu mountain which should be
must be booked in advance.
Finally, we will return to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch on your own, and finally we will take the train to Ollantaytambo. From there we will take you by bus to Regocijo Square in Cusco, where we will arrive in the late afternoon.
