The horseback ride starts directly from the Piandarca Breeding Horse farm and takes place entirely on a flat route, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the scenery at your own pace. From the very first steps, you are enveloped by the silence of the Umbrian countryside, interrupted only by the sound of hooves and the wind blowing across the open fields.

The route winds through country roads and trails immersed in nature, offering sweeping, sunlit views. Along the route, your gaze sweeps over the surrounding hills, from which you can clearly see Montefalco, Spello and Assisi, which rise on the horizon like picture-postcard scenes, each with its own unmistakable profile.

Continuing at a leisurely pace, you will reach the Piandarca area, a place steeped in spirituality and history, where, according to tradition, St. Francis preached to the birds. Here, time seems to slow down: nature is the undisputed star and conveys a feeling of profound peace, perfectly in tune with the Franciscan message.

Not far away, you will also come across the largest Tau cross in Europe, a symbol dear to St. Francis and a sign of protection and harmony. Seeing it set in the rural landscape makes this point on the route even more evocative and invites contemplation.

After about an hour in total, the ride returns to the stables along the same flat terrain, once again offering breathtaking views of the Umbrian countryside and the surrounding villages. It is an experience that combines nature, panorama and spirituality, perfect for those who want to experience Umbria in an authentic way, slowly, on horseback.
