What you can expect

  • Meet your guide Hakim at Hergla’s village square at your chosen start time. Head first to the Roman cemetery on the village outskirts; a real off-the-beaten path archaeological location, then walk back in to visit the historic mosque.

Midday brings an authentic Tunisian lunch at a local family-run restaurant. Enjoy a delicious couscous with fish, a local delicacy cooked by a local. Afterwards, explore artisan workshops city centre, where you’ll see local women-run businesses showcasing the local artisans' hand-weaved alfalfa crafts.

Conclude back in the square by mid-afternoon, carrying fresh insights and flavours of Hergla’s hidden heritage.
