Admire the large contingent of pelicans and, if you're lucky, spot dolphins. See a wide variety of birds including brown pelicans, terns, sea gulls, white egrets, blue herons, ducks, cormorants, anhinga, ospreys, and black vultures.

If desired and conditions are right, go to see from up close the Historical Landmark SS Selma shipwreck, an experimental ship made of concrete and rebar steel from the WWI era, today partially submerged in Galveston Bay.
