What you can expect

  • We will pick you up at the door of your hotel and take you in a comfortable and safe vehicle to the picturesque town of Carmelo, the birthplace of winemaking in Uruguay.
    Accompanied by an experienced driver, you'll embark on this 1-hour journey while enjoying the beautiful landscapes typical of rural Uruguay.
    Upon arriving in the city of Carmelo, you'll be able to take a must-do tour of the town's main sights, snap unforgettable photos, and learn a bit more about its history.
    We'll then continue to the small village of Colonia Estrella, home to the traditional family vineyards of Bodega El Legado. You'll be greeted by the owners themselves and will be able to tour the vineyards, see the wine cellar, learn about the process of making their fine wines, visit the labelling room, and finally enjoy a platter of local cheeses and cold cuts paired with delicious El Legado wines.

    At the end of your experience, you will be safely returned to your hotel in Colonia del Sacramento.
