MEET YOUR GUIDE AT COLÓN CRUISE TERMINAL

Meet your guide at the cruise terminal at your selected pickup time and travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal. Your itinerary is planned with cruise ship schedules in mind.

SEE THE AGUA CLARA LOCKS

At the Agua Clara Visitor Centre, look out over the expanded Panama Canal and Gatun Lake. Learn how the locks help vessels travel between the Caribbean Sea and the canal’s higher inland waters.

From the viewing area, you may see ships passing through the locks. Ship movements depend on the canal’s operating schedule, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. Admission is not included.

CROSS THE ATLANTIC BRIDGE

Continue towards Fort San Lorenzo, crossing the Atlantic Bridge for views over the Panama Canal and its surroundings. Enjoy the scenery as you travel through the forested Caribbean landscape.

EXPLORE FORT SAN LORENZO

Visit the historic fort overlooking the mouth of the Chagres River. Explore its stone walls and cannons while your guide shares stories of the fort’s role in protecting an important colonial trade route.

Fort San Lorenzo forms part of the UNESCO-listed Caribbean fortifications of Portobelo and San Lorenzo. Take time to enjoy the views over the river and Caribbean coast before returning to Colón Cruise Terminal. Admission and the nature reserve fee are not included. whc.unesco.org

This is a land-based tour with a visit to the locks’ observation area. It does not include a boat transit through the Panama Canal.
