What you can expect

  • Discover one of Peru's most impressive waterfalls on a full-day excursion from Chachapoyas. Gocta Waterfall, with a drop of approximately 771 metres, is surrounded by lush vegetation, mountainous landscapes, and a great diversity of flora and fauna.

The adventure begins with a transfer to the picturesque village of Cocachimba, located about an hour from Chachapoyas. From there, you'll set off on a roughly two-hour hike along trails surrounded by nature.

During the hike, you'll see crop fields, traditional sugar cane mills, colourful butterflies, various bird species, and beautiful orchids growing in the natural environment. As you make your way along the trail, you'll enjoy constant views of the majestic Gocta Waterfall.

Upon reaching the base of the waterfall, you'll have some free time to admire the scenery, take photos, and enjoy the natural pool formed by the falling water. Those who wish can cool off in this spectacular setting surrounded by nature.

After enjoying the waterfall, you'll head back to Cocachimba, where you'll savour a typical lunch from the region before returning to the city of Chachapoyas.

An ideal experience for lovers of nature, trekking, and the spectacular landscapes of the Peruvian Andean Amazon.
