SUPER TREKKING — LENÇÓIS MARANHENSES
DAY 1 — APPROXIMATELY 14 KM
Departure from Barreirinhas (03:30): Board a 4x4 vehicle bound for the famous Lagoa Bonita circuit. A hearty breakfast will be served before the trek begins.
Start of the hike (At dawn): Bathed in the first light of morning, we begin a hike of approximately 14 km across the park's stunning landscapes, with strategic stops for swimming and dipping in crystal-clear lagoons.
Arrival at Mucambo Oasis: Our first major stop is the charming Mucambo oasis, where we will be welcomed by local families and enjoy a traditional homemade lunch featuring regional ingredients.
Afternoon and Sunset: Free time after lunch to relax. At 16:30, we will take a short walk to explore nearby lagoons and witness an unforgettable sunset over the dunes.
Evening: Dinner served at 19:30. Free time to light a campfire, chat, admire the starry sky, and rest up for the next day.
DAY 2 — APPROXIMATELY 16 KM
Start of the day (05:00): Early wake-up call with a simple, nutritious breakfast. We begin the trail at sunrise, taking advantage of the cooler walking temperatures.
Morning and Lagoons (6 km): A trek of approximately 6 km across the dunes with several stops for swimming. The morning hike concludes at Barraca do Diel, a rustic facility located beside a beautiful lagoon.
Lunch Stop: Time to swim, rest, and have lunch at Barraca do Diel, preparing our bodies for the second leg of the journey. Afternoon trek to Oasis Rancharia (10 km): Departure at 2:00 PM for another 10 km leg of the crossing to our second support point: Oasis Rancharia.
Conclusion: A warm welcome from the local families of Rancharia, followed by dinner and an overnight stay. A simple, cosy setting fully integrated with nature.
DAY 3 — APPROXIMATELY 17 KM
Start of the day (4:00 AM): An early wake-up call for a light breakfast. Departure at 4:40 AM while it is still dark, taking advantage of the cool weather and the spectacular sunrise over the dunes.
Trek to Betânia: The longest day of the crossing, covering about 17 km to Lagoa do Junco, in the Betânia region. A stop for a refreshing swim, followed by boarding a 4x4 vehicle bound for Santo Amaro.
Lunch in Betânia: Arrival for a well-deserved regional lunch, with free time to relax and enjoy the final views of Lençóis Maranhenses.
Return to Barreirinhas (2:00 PM): Boarding a vehicle back to Barreirinhas (average travel time: 1.5 hours).
Logistics Note: The scheduled return to Barreirinhas is at 2:00 PM. If a direct transfer to São Luís is required, departure is also at 2:00 PM (service available upon prior request).
