Let yourself be welcomed among the historic lava flows and high-altitude vineyards of Mount Etna in the Gangemi family winery in Passopisciaro. The experience, led directly by winemaker Viviana Gangemi, the fifth generation of the family, takes you on an authentic discovery of Etna viticulture: from the production methods handed down for almost 150 years, to the history of the vineyards rebuilt on lava flows and the presentation of the characteristics of volcanic wines.

The visit begins in the panoramic tasting room overlooking the vineyards and continues with a tour of the ancient cellars dug into the basalt, as well as the production and ageing rooms. If time permits, you can also stroll through the vineyards “rebuilt” on the 1879 lava flow, discovering the challenges and richness of this unique terroir up close.

It concludes with a guided tasting of 5 wines from the winery (3 classics and 2 reserves) paired with homemade bread and extra-virgin olive oil. Upon request, you can enhance the experience with a platter of typical products or a light lunch. An opportunity to understand the versatility and longevity of Etna's indigenous wines, directly from those who produce them.
