Encore Melaka, envisioned by Datuk Wira Boo Kuang Loon, the founder and CEO of Yong Tai Berhad, began its planning in 2013, with the inaugural performance taking place on July 7, 2018. This award-winning architectural gem is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, featuring a distinctive 360-degree rotating auditorium that accommodates 1,800 seats and boasts a 240-meter-long stage equipped with cutting-edge technology, including water effects, mist, and multi-lifting, multi-storey capabilities. The concept behind Encore Melaka is to harmonise tradition with innovation, providing dynamic and immersive performances that showcase Melaka’s rich cultural heritage. Ideally situated near Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, this premier cultural venue aims to enhance Melaka’s reputation as a global tourist destination, stimulating economic growth and creating job opportunities for the local community.
