What you can expect

  • The Tolbooth Tavern, a cosy pub loves to showcase local Scottish produce. With the Scottish tasting platter you will get to sample some of the most popular dishes.

Delight in MacSween’s haggis bon bons with whisky cream sauce, savour the smoked salmon paired with Scottish oatcakes, enjoy the earthy mushrooms in garlic cream sauce on toasted bloomer bread, and indulge in freshly landed hand-battered mini fish n’ chips.

The experience culminates with a traditional Scottish dessert, Cranachan, featuring Scottish raspberries, whisky, cream, and oats.

The Tolbooth Tavern is part of the original Canongate Tolbooth built in 1591. This medieval building was used to collect tolls from travellers entering the burgh at the Canongate. The ground floor became The Tolbooth Tavern in 1820. It is a traditional Scottish pub full of character and charm boasting a fantastic spot along the Royal Mile where the small exterior gives way to a spacious bar and mezzanine dining area.
