Complete Island Tour (A unique experience with 4 swimming stops)
The Island Tour is one of the magnificent full-day experiences aboard the Motor Vessel Principe, which will allow you to see the entire coast of Elba Island and its countless natural beauties.
We will depart from Marina di Campo at 9:15 am to begin our cruise along the southern coast, from Capo Stella to the Costa dei Gabbiani, with our first stop at the wild beach of Cannello for a delightful swim in the heart of the Calamita Mine, with the beach surrounded by excavations and the towering, abandoned structure of an industrial laundry.
We will continue sailing along the entire Costa dei Gabbiani, an area accessible only by sea, entering the eastern side of Elba until we reach the village of Porto Azzurro. From there, we will skirt the entire coast of the Rio mines as far as Cavo, known as the “Shimmering Coast” in honour of the sparkle of the black mineral dust found on some beaches that distinguishes their appearance.
The tour continues on the northern side of Elba, first in a wild area and then on to Portoferraio, where the “Costa Verde” begins, a beautiful stretch marked by white cliffs plunging into the crystal-clear sea of deep blue and bright turquoise.
Here, we will pass near the Scoglietto Marine Reserve, which is rich in marine wildlife. The second stop for a swim will be at Sansone Beach.
Our journey continues into the bays of Biodola and then Procchio, two of the longest sandy beaches on Elba Island, until we reach Marciana Marina, the last harbour on the north coast. From here, we continue to our third stop at Sant'Andrea, one of the most famous beaches for the transparency of its sea and the granite cliffs that plunge into the turquoise waters.
Here we are on the western side, characterised by a high, rocky coastline. We pass through Chiessi and Pomonte, where there is a shipwreck that sank in the 1970s, the Evilscott, lying at a depth of just 12 metres. The fourth swim stop is at Fetovaia on the south coast, one of the island's most stunning and photographed beaches thanks to its seabed, sheltered location, crystal-clear water, and the colour contrasts between the sapphire and turquoise sea and the fine white granite sand.
We will cross the Bay of Cavoli with its Blue Grotto and return to Marina di Campo at around 3:15 pm.
