What you can expect

Discover why Bologna is called the learned and the fat and why the two are connected.
The earliest European universities were spontaneous creations which evolved in the course of the 12th century. They first emerged in Bologna and Paris. Paris gave rise to that of the masters' university, Bologna, to that of the concept of the student-controlled university. What was revolutionary student activity directed against? Were students able to do non-vocational courses? Medieval universities were largely vocational schools training students in what? Were the student protest movements the explosive outgrowth of pent-up anti-establishment feelings?
were the student movements concerned with the content of university courses? What was the agreed core of studies? Did any of the rebellions have as their aims the widening or modernisation of the syllabus? Why does the rise of Bologna university have to be seen in relation to the prevailing concept of Italian citizenship? Were lecturers fined for arriving late and for finishing late?

I will answer all your questions during this tour!
