This tour takes you deep into East Java’s volcanic landscapes, where you’ll witness the rare blue fire phenomenon, explore an active sulphur mine, and enjoy a stunning sunrise over the turquoise crater lake at 2,386 metres above sea level.
Your journey begins in the evening from Bali or midnight from Banyuwangi, with transport through scenic countryside and a ferry crossing from Bali to Java (approx. 1 hour). An experienced local guide will lead you on a memorable trek under the stars, offering insights into the region’s geology, culture, and history.

Tour Itinerary:
*We’ll pick you up from your hotel, port or meeting point and begin the journey to Ijen Volcano by vehicle.

Medical check-up (required for entry) before continuing to Paltuding Basecamp.

Arrive at the basecamp. Briefing session with your guide and short rest.

Begin the trek to Mount Ijen (approx. 1.5 hours, moderate hike).

Reach the crater rim. If safe and approved by your guide, descend 900 metres into the crater to witness the blue fire—a rare natural phenomenon caused by ignited sulfuric gases.
Important: Crater descent is only allowed under safe conditions and guide supervision. Not recommended for guests with asthma, heart conditions, or fear of heights.
While at Ijen Crater, you’ll:
-Witness the blue fire (if weather permitting).
-Observe sulphur miners working by hand.
-Learn about the volcano’s history and geology.
-Enjoy a unique volcanic landscape lake.
