Sandland, also known as Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum, is one of the world's largest open-air sand sculpture events. Located on Antalya's world-famous Lara coast, this fascinating museum is defined as “the place where sand turns into art.” Renewed each year with different themes, Sandland takes its visitors on a journey full of art, history, and imagination with hundreds of giant sculptures created solely from the combination of water and river sand.

The works, made using 10,000 tonnes of river sand on an area of approximately 7000 m², are built by 25-30 professional sculptors from all over the world with weeks of labour. The sculptures are shaped only with sand and water; they represent the purest form of nature and human labour, as they contain no chemical additives.

Your visit begins at the impressive entrance gate. You'll find yourself in a storey beyond time as you walk among mythological gods, historical leaders, space explorers, film characters, and scenes from the worlds of the future. In front of each sculpture, there are explanation boards in four languages: Turkish, English, German, and Russian. On these boards, you can find information about the subject, artist, and production process of the work.

One of the things that makes the Sandland experience special is the themed music that accompanies visitors throughout the area. You'll be completely immersed in the atmosphere by hearing epic melodies in the mythological sections and sounds evoking the future in the space-themed areas. Also, the giant LED screen in the museum area broadcasts a professional documentary showing the construction stages of the sculptures. This documentary offers visitors the opportunity to see the challenges and technical details of sand sculpture, and the work of the artists behind the scenes.

During the day, you can closely examine the details, reliefs, and fine carving of the sculptures. In the evening, the museum turns into an art scene with its special lighting system. Plus, you can enjoy both the daytime and nighttime experiences with a single ticket.

The Mini Sand Workshop for kids lets little visitors have fun making their own sand sculptures. Families can snap fun shots at the space-themed Astronaut Photo Spot. You can also observe the Moon, Jupiter, or Saturn with free telescope activities held on summer evenings.
