The Vatican Museums include more than 50 galleries, displaying artworks from a great number of times and cultures. Among these treasures, you can't absolutely miss:

  • Sistine Chapel: Go to the heart of the Vatican, where Cardinals still officially elect Popes. This world-known Renaissance chapel contains two large frescoes by Michelangelo, realised between 1508 and 1541: the ceiling representing scenes and characters of the Bible, with a frame of prophets and sybils, and the Last Judgement on the west wall.
  • Raphael Rooms: Choose our morning guided visit to explore also this masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance: the four rooms (Stanza della Segnatura, Stanza di Eliodoro, Stanza dell'Incendio, Sala di Costantino) painted by Raphael and its atelier between 1508 and 1524, with other Bible and ancient stories like the School of Athens.
  • St. Peter's Basilica :(available inside daily, except on Wednesdays 8:00 AM departures, when it will be replaced with the decorated Vatican Library). Entry to one of the most suggestive spiritual places in the world. This majestic church and its iconic dome took more than a century of works by the most famous architects and artists of 16 and 17 centuries. When you get it, remember to look for the Pietà by Michelangelo
