Start with Xiamen’s most famous temple- the 1,000-year-old Nanputuo, a deeply respected and spiritually significant site, where you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Chinese Buddhist culture and experience traditional rituals such as incense offering and fortune stick reading.

Then continue to Xiamen University for a photo stop at its iconic entrance, followed by the famous landmark Xiamen Shimao Twin Towers, where you can enjoy stunning coastal views.

After that, stroll along the seaside to enjoy ocean views and beaches, and walk through old streets and hidden alleys that reflect the city’s port history and traditional fisherman culture.

Along the way, you’ll see how local life has unfolded over generations in this coastal city. We’ll also stop at authentic local food spots — small places that locals truly love and tourists rarely find on their own.

Finally, you’ll step inside a century-old local Minnan-style home, where you’ll enjoy a cup of Xiamen’s famous local tea while appreciating the beauty of traditional authentic Minnan architecture and lifestyle.

This tour is relaxed, immersive, and flexible — perfect for travellers who want more than just sightseeing, and who wish to truly connect with Xiamen’s history, people, and rhythm of life.

If you want more than just checking off tourist spots, and instead truly taste, hear, and feel Xiamen like a local — come walk with me on this food and cultural tour. I’d love to show you the most authentic, flavourful and unforgettable side of Xiamen.
