Experience one of Indonesia’s most extraordinary natural wonders on a guided midnight trek to Kawah Ijen Volcano from Banyuwangi.

Your adventure begins late at night as our friendly local team choices you up directly from your accommodation. Travel through the quiet mountain roads of East Java before arriving at the base of Kawah Ijen, one of the few places on Earth where the rare Blue Fire phenomenon can be seen.

Accompanied by experienced local guides, begin your trek under the stars towards the crater rim. Along the journey, enjoy the cool mountain air, peaceful forest atmosphere, and the excitement of hiking an active volcano in the middle of the night.

If weather and volcanic conditions allow, descend into the crater to witness the famous electric-blue flames created by ignited sulfuric gases — a surreal natural phenomenon that attracts travellers from around the world.

As dawn approaches, reach the viewpoint above the crater and watch the sunrise illuminate the breathtaking turquoise acid lake — the largest acidic crater lake in the world.

Along the way, observe the incredible lives of traditional sulphur miners who carry heavy sulphur loads by hand from inside the crater, continuing a generations-old tradition that remains one of the most unique human stories in East Java.

Designed for comfort and safety, this experience includes hotel pickup and drop-off, entrance tickets, safety equipment, and knowledgeable local guides who will help make your journey both memorable and enjoyable.

Whether you are a solo traveller, couple, photographer, or adventure seeker, this tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the heart of Java.
