Your journey begins at Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, Chongqing's commercial heart where skyscrapers surround the historic monument. Crowds fill car-free streets as your guide explains the city's evolution from wartime capital to modern metropolis. Capture photos of towers framing the landmark or sample spicy noodles and street skewers.
Next comes the legendary Liziba Monorail Station, where trains glide directly through residential building floors. From the opposite viewing platform, watch multiple monorails enter and exit while your guide details the engineering marvel born from Chongqing's steep terrain and space constraints.
The pace slows at Kuixing Tower, a traditional hillside pavilion named for the deity of literature. Red pillars and curved roofs overlook layered streets below, offering a serene moment blending cultural heritage with urban energy and distant river views.
Sujiaba Interchange Sky Bus Experience: Here we arrange a special public bus ride (routes 125/318) through the famous Sujiaba Interchange. Feel the thrill as your bus spirals up the 72-meter helical ramp, with crash barriers dropping to window level and the city falling away beneath you like a 24-story canyon. This authentic “Sky Bus” experience lets you ride through Chongqing's legendary 3D traffic network.
In the afternoon, visit Eling Park—the “City Balcony” perched on a ridge between Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Tree-shaded paths lead to viewing platforms with sweeping panoramas of bridges, rivers, and endless high-rises stretching towards the horizon.
Adjacent Testbed 2 Art Street transforms old factories into a vibrant creative hub. Preserved concrete and brick structures now house stylish cafes, design boutiques, and art galleries. Wander artistic lanes, snap industrial-chic photos, and feel Chongqing's youthful reinvention of its past.
As dusk falls, arrive at Jiangbeizui Park and Chongqing Grand Theatre(重庆大剧院) on the riverside peninsula—a prime yet less crowded spot for Hongya Cave's night view. Watch the city illuminate: bridges glow, towers sparkle, and stilted buildings shine like a golden cliff across the water with shimmering reflections below.
Your local guide weaves throughout stories of Chongqing's mountain-city geography, history, and daily life, connecting surreal visuals to real people. End your day with stunning photos and deep appreciation for this multi-layered metropolis you've experienced from street level to skyline heights.
