What you can expect

  • Begin your journey with a visit to the mountain-top palaces of Emperor Menelik II on Entoto Hill. Take in panoramic views of the city and learn about the history of Ethiopia’s emperors.

Next, head to the National Museum of Ethiopia to see the bones of “Lucy,” humanity’s oldest ancestor. Discover the rich history of Ethiopia, a nation never colonised, fiercely proud, and deeply spiritual.

Wander through the colourful chaos of Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market. Experience the vibrant atmosphere and see how locals go about their daily lives.

Then, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, where you’ll sip coffee the way it’s been prepared for centuries, in a sacred ceremony full of warmth and aroma.

Taste the richness of injera and spicy wot in a buzzing local eatery, dance to the beat of shoulder rhythms, and end your day with laughter and song at an optional traditional dinner show.
