This 3-day Poon Hill trek offers a beautiful journey through lush forests, charming villages, and stunning Himalayan views, perfect for those with limited time but seeking a rewarding trekking experience. The itinerary is designed to maximise scenic beauty while ensuring a comfortable pace.
Day 1: Drive from Pokhara to Kilu (2–3 hours), Trek to Tadapani (2,630m / 8,628ft, 5–6 hours)
In the morning our guide pick you up with your name card from your hotel and drive to Kilu, a small settlement near Ghandruk, where the trek begins. The drive offers glimpses of terraced fields, rivers, and traditional villages. Begin trekking through lush rhododendron and oak forests. Pass through Ghandruk, a beautiful Gurung village known for its rich culture and stunning Annapurna views. Afternoon Continue ascending through dense forests with occasional glimpses of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna peaks. Evening arrive in Tadapani, a peaceful hilltop village with panoramic views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. Check into a teahouse, enjoy a warm meal, and rest for the night.
Day 2: Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani (2,850m / 9,350ft, 5–6 hours)
Morning wake up to a stunning sunrise over the Himalayas. After breakfast, begin the trek towards Ghorepani. The route passes through rhododendron forests, ridges, and small settlements. If trekking in spring, the trail is decorated with blooming rhododendron flowers. Afternoon continue the gradual ascent through Deurali Pass before descending slightly into Ghorepani. Evening check into a teahouse in Ghorepani, where trekkers gather before the Poon Hill sunrise hike. Enjoy an early dinner and rest in preparation for the early morning hike.
Day 3: Sunrise at Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,532ft), Trek to Ulleri & Drive to Pokhara
Early Morning start the pre-dawn hike (45 minutes to 1 hour) to Poon Hill, the most famous viewpoint in the region. Witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Capture the golden hues lighting up the snow-capped peaks, including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri. Descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Trek downhill through forests and villages, passing Nangethanti and Banthanti before reaching Ulleri, a traditional Magar village with stone-paved steps. rom Ulleri, board a shared jeep or local bus for a scenic drive back to Pokhara, arriving by late afternoon. Tour end.
