Know before you book

    • The Blue Lagoon is a natural aquarium and there is no pier or sandy strip to disembark, so it is important that visitors know how to swim if they want to get off the boat.
    • Food and drink may not come on board the boat
    • At each stop, it is possible to disembark from the schooner for a swim in the sea
    • The schooner tour lasts 6 hours (approximately)
    • Please contact the company responsible for the tour to confirm the pick-up time
    • Ages considered for: Adult – 11 years and up; Child – 3-10 years; Infant 0-4 years (not occupying seat).
    • Passengers not staying at one of the hotels in our pickup list will be informed of the nearest pickup point and time.
    • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
    • It is mandatory to pay, at the city entrance, the Sustainable Tourism Fee (BRL 25,00 per person). The amount may be changed by the municipality without prior notice; we recommend bringing extra cash to avoid any inconvenience.

What you can expect

  • Start your full-day excursion with a 165 km trip from Rio de Janeiro to Angra dos Reis, in the Costa Verde region.
    Head to the port to board the schooner towards Ilha Grande, one of the best beach destinations in the state. Settle into your seat and enjoy the paradisiacal views.

    Make your first stop at the Botinas Islands, Angra's postcard. Its calm waters of different shades of blue are the perfect invitation for a swim. Continue on to Ilha Grande and discover the Blue Lagoon, the jewel of Rio de Janeiro's southern coast. Check out the collection of starfish at the bottom of the ocean, as well as colourful fish and coral in this natural pool, perfect for snorkelling and floating with “noodle” buoys. Also enjoy the tranquil Araçá Beach. Located next to Lagoa Azul, the small beach surrounded by large rocks and preserved native forest is a great option for relaxing and enjoying the view.

    Finally, visit Praia das Flechas and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant and a refreshing dip in the sea.

    Disembark at the pier and return comfortably to Rio de Janeiro.
