Start your day early with a breathtaking sunrise view of Meili Snow Mountain (weather permitting). After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Ninong, where today’s adventure begins (15 kilometres, about 6 hours hike). This tour takes you through the stunning Ninong Canyon and into the heart of a primeval forest, following the winding path alongside the Lancang River. As you make your way through this untouched wilderness, you’ll finally arrive at the serene Yubeng Village, nestled at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain. Known as a miniature Shangri-La, Yubeng offers an idyllic escape into nature, with its tranquil landscapes and pristine beauty.

After Breakfast, get ready for a challenging day to Ice lake, about 14 kilometres, offering a variety of rest stops and scenic viewpoints along the way. Ideal for visitors with good physical stamina, this trail takes you through diverse terrains, ranging from gentle slopes to more challenging, steep sections. The journey culminates at the ice lake viewpoint, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Meili Snow Mountain, particularly the majestic Kawagebo Peak. Throughout the hike, you’ll experience the raw beauty and craftsmanship of nature, making this a must-do route for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.

This day takes you deep into a picturesque valley that leads to a dead end, requiring you to retrace your steps on the same path. Starting from Yubeng, follow the signs as you embark on an uphill trek to the Sacred Waterfall, a journey that takes about 4 hours, reaching an elevation of 3650 metres. The waterfall, fed by the melting snow from Meili Snow Mountain, is a mesmerising sight. In spring and summer, the increased flow from the snowmelt makes the waterfall even more magnificent and powerful, while in other seasons, it cascades gently down the mountainside. Revered as a sacred site by Tibetans, the waterfall is a place for spiritual cleansing—many come here to bathe under its waters to purify their souls. According to Tibetan tradition, one can walk around the waterfall three times in a clockwise direction to pray for blessings and good fortune. After soaking in the serene beauty and spiritual energy of the site, you will return to Yubeng Village to complete the hike.

Compared with previous days, today’s trek is easier. The road follows a gentle downhill route and you can see canyons, rivers and meadows and pass through the primitive forest on the way. Finally, you arrive at Ninong Village via Ninong Grand Canyon and finish your Yubeng Trekking. After that, you will drive back to Shangri-La and end your trip in Shangri-La.
