Day 1: Exploring Tataouine and Berber villages

• Hotel pick-up: You will be met at your hotel to begin your adventure.

• Journey to Tataouine: We will take the “Roman Road,” a picturesque causeway connecting the island of Djerba to the African mainland.

• Stop at the salt lake of Chahbania: En route, we will take a break at the salt lake of Chahbania to enjoy the magnificent views and take some memorable photos.

• Arrival in Tataouine: Once you arrive, you will have the opportunity to explore the local market, where you can discover the various Berber products and spices.

• Visit to the Berber village of Chenini: We will then continue on our way to Chenini, a Berber village. A local guide will introduce you to its history and traditions, and explain the lifestyle of the inhabitants.

• Lunch at a local restaurant: At midday, you will have the chance to enjoy a traditional Berber meal at one of the restaurants in the village.

• Onward to the Erg and the oasis of Ksar Ghilane: After lunch, we will head to the Erg, the desert of rocks, to reach the oasis of Ksar Ghilane. Upon arrival, you can swim in the natural water pool, a magical place surrounded by greenery and the golden dunes of the Sahara.

• Optional activities: For those who wish to, it will be possible to explore the area around the oasis by quad biking or camel riding, for an additional fee.

• Overnight stay in Ksar Ghilane: After a full day, you will spend the night in local accommodation, where you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the desert.

Day 2: Exploring Matmata and the troglodyte villages

• Hearty breakfast: The next morning, after a good breakfast, we will set off for the village of Matmata.

• Visit to a Berber family: In Matmata, you will have the chance to meet a Berber family and visit their traditional troglodyte dwelling.

• Break at the village of Tamazret: We will take a break at the Berber village of Tamazret, where you can enjoy an almond tea, a local speciality.

• Sidi Idriss: Next, we will head to Sidi Idriss, a troglodyte hotel famous for having been the setting of some scenes in the Star Wars film. Here, you can see some of the film's set pieces.

• Visit to Toujane: The final visit of the day will be to the Berber village of Toujane, which is hidden between two mountains and famous for handmade carpets and honey.

• Hotel drop-off: At the end of this day full of discoveries, you will be dropped back to your hotel, full of unforgettable memories.
