Nestled at the foot of Jinhua Mountain in Zhejiang Province, Jinhua Shuanglong Scenic Area is a national 5A-level scenic area and national forest park renowned for its spectacular karst landscapes and cave formations. It has been listed among the 2026 “100 Beautiful China Travel Points”, fully showcasing its outstanding ecological charm.

Boasting diverse karst landforms and a large-scale cave system, the scenic area features distinctive natural cave landscapes. Shuanglong Cave is famous for its iconic two dragon-head-shaped stalactites and the unique experience of entering the cave by lying flat on a small boat, a classic scenic feature widely recorded in Chinese textbooks. Adjacent to it, Curling Cave (Binghu Cave) attracts numerous visitors with its stunning underground waterfall and magnificent cave views. The caves maintain a pleasant constant temperature of around 15-18°C throughout the year, serving as an ideal summer retreat.

Beyond its remarkable natural scenery, the scenic area possesses profound cultural heritage. It inherits the legendary tales of Huang Daxian, a national intangible cultural heritage item, and is the birthplace of the Juyan tea production technique, which is inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. For thousands of years, celebrated ancient literati including Li Bai, Wang Anshi and Su Shi have visited here, leaving more than 2,000 precious literary works and inscriptions. Ancient cultural sites such as Lutian Academy and Jinhua Temple further enrich the scenic area’s historical and cultural connotations.

In recent years, the scenic area has been upgraded with complete modern tourism facilities, evolving into a popular travel hotspot among young people. It provides diversified services including boutique accommodation, themed cafes, water sports and mountain camping. The Dapantian area, home to over ten mountains with an altitude of more than 1,000 metres, enjoys the well-deserved reputation of the “cool capital of East China”, making it a top-tier summer resort.
