The Zigong Dinosaur Museum is located in Dashanpu Town, Da'an District, Zigong City. It is China's first professional dinosaur-themed museum, one of the world's three major dinosaur fossil site museums, a national first-class museum, a 4A scenic spot, and the core area of the Zigong World Geopark. It officially opened to the public in 1987, built directly on the original excavation site of the Dashanpu dinosaur fossil group, achieving on-site protection, on-site exhibition, and on-site research of fossils.
