What you can expect

  • Discover Niterói, Rio de Janeiro's neighbour across Guanabara Bay, during an eye-opening half-day tour. Your expert tour guide walks you through the history and architecture of the city, including works by architect Oscar Niemeyer, and then takes you on a tour through the Contemporary Art Museum.

After hotel pickup in Rio de Janeiro, cross the Guanabara Bay to Niterói. Learn about its history and admire the view of Rio de Janeiro city from Niteroi. Visit the famous sites, such as the Teatro Popular, the Fundação Oscar Niemeyer, the Memorial Roberto Silveira, the Praça JK and the Centro Petrobras de Cinema Brasileiro.
The highlight of the tour is the Museu de Arte Contemporânea, the MAC. With its interesting and inventive shape, the MAC is considered one of the greatest works done by famous architect Oscar Niemeyer. The museum hosts the second-largest collection of contemporary works in Brazil. Spend time wandering the gallery and admiring the view from its interior, which is set into the cliffside and overlooks a beach.

At the end of your tour, catch sight of Niterói's skyline in your journey back to Rio de Janeiro.
